E.B. Pusey, in full Edward Bouverie Pusey, (born August 22, 1800, Pusey, Berkshire, England—died September 16, 1882, Ascot Priory, Berkshire), English Anglican theologian, scholar, and a leader of the Oxford movement, which sought to revive in Anglicanism the High Church ideals of the later 17th-century church.

King Charles the Martyr

King Charles the Martyr was the last saint to be canonized by the Church of England.

He is honored as a martyr because he died for the sake of the Church. He was offered his life if he would abandon episcopacy, but he refused, for this would have taken the Church of England away from being part of ‘the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church’ and change Her into a sect.
